IOM Food and Drink Festival 2018

Last weekend I had the pleasure of going to the Isle of Man Food and Drink Festival. I went on the Sunday so luckily enough the sun was shining! It was such a lovely day filled with community spirit, fresh healthy produce and Manx music to fill your ears.

Here are some of the yummy treats I found:

O teas

I love herbal teas! I’m a big green tea drinker but enjoy a fruitier tea sometimes in the afternoon when I have cravings for something sweeter. Lucky enough O teas had some running close to the sell by date so I got 5 different selections for £1 – bargain!

Paulas Kitchen Granola

I’ve followed Paula’s Kitchen range for a long time. She has everything from granola, to protein balls, to brownies. All her products are gluten, dairy and refined sugar free. The ingredients are all listed and are made with all natural ingredients so you know you’re getting something whole and nutritious. I put the granola on top of my oats in the morning, or mix it into my yogurt as a snack during the day. I bought the Summer Strawberry, Almond and Chai Granola as this discontinues at the end of the month, due to the end of the summer season. Paula did tell me that her Christmas range is coming out soon though!

Manx Quinoa

I read about this a few days before going to the festival and was glad to hear that that a local producer will now be supplying quinoa. They had a brownie sample on the table made from quinoa and it was amazing.  If you follow a vegan or vegetarian diet I would definitely recommend to get the protein into your diet.

The Alpine

Always a winner for me to get something healthy and nutritious that also tastes good! I had the halloumi burger and a mix of all the salads. We sat upstairs in a little area overlooking the sea. Bliss!

 Noa Bakehouse

Vegan Banana Bread! Ok, so I didn’t manage to get a picture as I demolished it so fast! Always a treat for me when I go to Noa, the banana mixed with the little chocolate pieces is so good – search for the recipe is still in progress!

So all in all, a great day with great company and some of our top food and drink producers around the Island. If you didn’t make it this year, I would highly recommend going next year to find these amazing treats dotted around our beautiful island!
